A revolutionary portable power solution for any brand of fish finder designed to use standard lithium 18V ONE+ Ryobi batteries. The Power Doc provides a water resistant housing for your Ryobi battery with a gasketed, secure latch on lid. Protected by a 3 amp resettable breaker fuse, the Power Doc efficiently transforms the 18V (20V real) DC voltage provided by a Ryobi battery to a safe and useable 12V (13-14V top range) to power your fish finder. A switched circuit with a bright LED power indicator allows you to conserve battery by switching the unit off when not in use and allowing you to know at a glance if the unit is on or off. The unit accepts any size Ah 18V Ryobi battery, allowing versatility in usage. Ryobi batteries include a convenient push button power gauge, so you always have an idea of how much charge you have left in the tank. Pair your fish finder with the size battery(s) you need based on your units power draw. (Maximum 9Ah battery size if using gasket lid. The 12Ah battery is too tall to attach the lid, so you would need to provide your own weather proofing if using 12Ah size battery. )
Power efficiency is tuned for fish finders with a 5″ screen or smaller, drawing less than 1 amp. The Power Doc provides and ideal platform for angling in the backcountry in an off-grid environment and is especially suited for use in paddle craft. The Power Doc is also great for bench testing your fish finder with up to a 9″ screen, when power efficiency is not a priority. Bench testing is great for getting familiar with your fish finder, testing functionality, exploring loaded maps or performing firmware upgrades.
Genuine Ryobi brand batteries are recommended and come with a 3 year warranty from Ryobi. Knock off brands tend to not have adequate safety circuitry and typically do not conform to the stated Ah rating. The overheating/fire risk of using off brand batteries is not worth the meager upfront savings.
Home Depot and directtoolsoutlet.com are reputable genuine Ryobi retailers and often have regular sales on Ryobi batteries. Direct Tools Outlet(DTO) (www.directtoolsoutlet.com) sells new condition Ryobi tools and batteries labeled as “Blemished”, as a means to circumvent their exclusive marketing contract with Home Depot. However, Direct Tools Outlet’s “Blemished” products are new/retail boxed products.(DTO also sells reconditioned products, which may in fact be used and reconditioned as labeled.) Home depot generally runs Ryobi deals in May and November(Black Friday) and sporadically throughout the year.
